The City Collector is appointed by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen and is responsible for the collection and oversight of all incoming revenues to the City of Bates City including water, sewer, business licenses, building permits, solicitor's permits, and dog tags. The City Collector generally is the first person contacted at City Hall by Citizens in search of information.
The City Collector also serves at the Municipal Court Clerk and is responsible for the day to day operations of court including, but not limited to:
Assisting and responding to inquiries from attorneys, judicial officers, the law enforcement community and the general public;
Preparing, reviewing and processing legal documents, correspondence, motions, and orders;
Completing court-related forms such as petitions and warrants;
Collecting fines, fees and bond payments;
Preparing the dockets of scheduled cases
